I've had great success starting DE 3 days before a full moon (it is said parasites are active/lay eggs over the full moon) and take for a minimum of 18 days. DE is an inert, nontoxic compound- properly ground, the skeletons of microscopic diatoms become sharp silica needles, harmful to parasites, fungi, yeast, worms, and amoebas. However, these are harmless to humans and other warm-blooded animals. Although it is typically safe to consume food grade diatomaceous earth, you should consult your physician, especially if taking any medication. The best method (as with everything else) is to allow for periods of rest. "Dosing" is all over the board ½ to 1 teaspoon twice a day for smaller kids & 1 tbsp 2 times a day for bigger kids & adults (AM & PM, 1-2 hrs before or after a meal, and separate from any probiotics, vitamins & meds.) DO NOT BREATH IT IN through your mouth or nose. I take 2 tbsp daily, and literally hold my breath until I mix with 4 oz water and drink- DE mixes well with water but never dissolves, stir the DE/water slurry vigorously and drink immediately before the DE settles to the bottom. DO NOT TAKE DRY. Drink extra water at least 8oz and you will reap the benefits within days- less bloating, digestive issues etc. (Add a gentle herbal parasite cleanse separate from the DE and you have a double whammy- feel better, less fatigue etc. & quite possibly weight loss.)
